Ep 42. Tina Rae Saikaley, owner of Ohmbars shares the story of her personal reasons for making a healthy, delicious snack

In 2009 Tina Rae Saikaley returned from vacation with the intention of starting an import/export business. However, she came home to find that many of her friends wanted to order her homemade nutritional bars she’d been making for a couple years.

She would often shop at health food stores and take a walk down the “bar” aisle to see what was out there, always trying something new. Tina Rae started making her own on-the-go gluten free bars when she couldn’t find one that met all her dietary needs. She found nothing similar to what she’d crafted in her kitchen so after much research she decided to start her own Company, Ohmbars!

“I’ve been cooking and baking as long as I can remember alongside my Lebanese Father who has been my inspiration – always in the kitchen experimenting with something. We were fortunate to have my supportive Mother cleaning up the aftermath (of course I helped).” – Tina Rae.

Olivia Maeder

My name is Olivia Maeder and I am an interview host at behindthebiz.org interviewing leaders, authors and inspirational speakers.

I go to Ryerson University taking a passion in interviewing, broadcasting and meeting new people. Although heels and business woman attire with broadcaster “Ron Burgundy” hair while reading the news in my main interest and passion, I am a huge outdoor girl who would jump in any lake, climb any tree or sit under the sun in any temperature of weather.

I take great passion in peoples stories and will go to many lengths just to find the true news or heart in any story. I am sensitive and respectful when it comes to personal interviews and with great pride I am eager to get to the bottom of anything and bring out the truth, making it a great story.

Anyone I meet I absorb it as a great opportunity that I am lucky to have.
